Making Connections Outcomes Identification
Are hoping for a good conversation with the site team on 5/14. Fred handed out Demoines and Denver reports. Each site is going at this a little differently, but there are common threads:
November 2nd will be deadline for cohort two to present outcomes. The foundation is looking for common ground outcomes between the two sites.
Outcomes have broad ownership from site participants and are driven by the community.
- What is the framework for discussing outcomes? We should agree on the language. We should incorporate Mark Friedman into this discussion.
- Where is the threshold for legitimizing these outcome? What is the process?
- What data do we need to collect? Does new information need to be collected? Existing sources of data:
- The Listening Campaign
- Make It Happen
- EBAYC Parent Organizing
- Timeline
- How will the flow of information be managed?
Local Learning Partnership Data Warehouse
- Wants a url for the website
- Needs an LSA web site as portal to the data warehouse. Lowersanantonio.net?
- Data warehouse Update

Just Economics Community Training on Redevelopment
Just Economics will be doing a training in July and we should have PAC representation at the workshop. In East Palo the Packard Foundation purchased bonds fro TIF at a low interest rate. Could be a possibility? Andy is to contact the head of the California Lawyers for the Arts to find out about a bond floating process.
Coordinating Agency Contract Renewal
A survey has been developed and should be accompanied by a scope of work.
Retreat Debrief and Follow-up
QUESTIONS/CONCERNS:
- Is there overlap between Jennie and Urban Strategies Council?
- It’s time to focus on resident since we’ve talked about it so much.
- Jennie’s resident engagement model is helpful- Should consider all options and outcomes associated.
- Should dedicate a portion of funds to independent projects. This would support community work and encourage greater participation. Need a way to coordinate the work. Like an idea of 23rd avenue corridor work as an agenda and way to move the work.
- Could Jennie’s proposal be incorporated into track one of USC’s scenario.
- Could Karen’s workshop help develop “identify” of collaboration.
- Need a definition of new terms: What is resident engagement?
- Look at Denver outcomes- try to identify resident engagement outcomes.
- Start to try to move group consensus.
