- Streetscape Design Update (Jerry)
- CDBG for 23rd Ave tree-planting (Jerry)

- CEDA wants to choose an on-call urban designer because they want the process to move along quickly. The process will probably start in June 2005.
- City Council will make their decision on May 3 at 7:00pm.

- 23rd Ave Plan publication update (Robert)

- May 9 will have the final copy of the 23rd Avenue Plan.

- Don will give an update at the next 23rd Avenue workgroup meeting.

- Eastside Cultural Center Update (Elena, Susanne)

- ESAA has received $350,000 funding from North CA Loan Fund to make four of their unit affordable.

- Joint Committee Update: 2005 Candidates’ forum

- District 2 Candidates’ forum will be held this Thursday, April 14, at the Hismam Hinnu meeting room. The Moderate will be Jerry Henderson. The press packets will be out this afternoon to all the candidates.

- Earth Day sub-committee (Jerry)

- Earth Day will be held on April 23, 2005 at Garfield School and will pick up trash alongside 23rd Avenue. Please come out to support Earth Day!

- Process on reviewing Development proposals on 23rdAvenue (Jennie)
- Next Steps (How can we respond to future developments in 23rd Ave as (1) individual agencies, (2) a 23rd Ave Workgroup, and (3) The LSA Collaborative?)

- Many workgroup members feel that the two Developers are not following the 23rd Avenue action plan and they can not support the development at this time.
- Jennie gave a presentation on reviewing development proposals (using PAC’s guidelines). The following are the seven steps:
Step 1: Developer approaches 23rd Avenue Group
Step 2: Request for proposal
Step 3: Preliminary Review
Step 4: Present proposal to 23rd Avenue workgroup
Step 5 Invite Developer to present proposal
Step 6: Presentation of proposal
Step 7: 23rd Avenue workgroup makes a decision about the development (yes or no)
- Andy suggested that we all must have accountability and believe in the 23rd avenue action Plan.
- The next steps is to come up with an Ad hoc Committee to discuss Jennie's development process.
