- April 19, 24, 26, 2007: SANN Strategic Planning Sessions We hope to have your participation and support as the San Antonio Neighborhood Network goes through its first phase of strategic planning. SANN, a mutual assistance network of residents and organizational partners has experienced tremendous growth over the last year. With your help it can go even further. Please RSVP your availability for the next (3) meetings as the vision, values, and approach are carved out in a collaborative setting. Each meeting will take place at the new office of SANN, unless the RSVP count exceeds capacity:

- May 25, 2006: Urban Strategies Council has released its 2005 Report on Oakland Homicides. The report summarizes changes in specific characteristics of homicides over the past three years.
- January 10 , 2006: Making Connections Oakland shares its investment plan for 2006 and overview of site strategies. These documents highlight work that will be supported by the Annie E. Casey Foundation this year.
- November 14, 2005: The Community Outreach Workgroup compiled a list of Resident Engagement opportunities for November and December 2005. This list is available here.
- October 21, 2005: On September 23-24, 2005 a group of Lower San Antonio residents participated in the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Resident Leadership and Facilitation Training. Coordinated by San Antonio CDC and delivered by three “coaches” from Casey’s Technical Assistance Resource Center, this was the first time the training has been offered to MCO residents. Available here Urban Strategies Council releases an observational report on the event with description of the training, participant list, follow-up suggestions and other notes from the meeting. A second training with a new group of residents is tentatively being planned for January 2006.
- October 10, 2005: Urban Strategies Council has released a result brief from the Cross-Site Survey of the Lower San Antonio neighborhood. The survey compares the neighborhood to the rest of Oakland and Alameda County and this brief includes questions on financial services, assets, debts, housing, police services, medical care, supermarkets, public libraries and after school programs. Result Brief #5: Families will have access to affordable goods and services, is available here (PDF, 541k).
- August 22 , 2005: Social Compact officially released its Drill Down Market Analysis studies of four Oakland neighborhoods, including the Lower San Antonio, at a public ceremony at the Fruitvale Transit Village. Other neighborhoods included in the reports are West Oakland, Fruitvale and East Oakland. - August 22 , 2005: Urban Strategies Council has released a series of reports on the 2005 Earned Income Tax Credit Campaign, including a report on the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites in the Lower San Antonio neighborhood.
